The Power of Getting Dressed

You know when you have one of those days where you really don’t feel like getting out of bed, let alone getting dressed? And when your day starts like that, you usually end up being very unmotivated, and can be found in your PJs at noon with your hair still looking like a rat’s nest and your teeth unbrushed…. you know what I’m talking about, right? Those days where you really do all of nothing for most of the day unless you absolutely have to.

Well, I have a solution: dress for the day you want to have.

It’s true. If you dress in sweats and a baggy T-shirt, you’re going to feel like having a lazy, sit-on-the-couch (or in front of the computer) kind of day, hoping no-one decides to unexpectedly drop in for coffee because the house is a disaster zone and you look like Einstein.

But, if you dress in clothes that make you feel awesome, you’ll be more motivated to get things done, organize stuff, cook healthy and tasty meals, exercise, clean something, make your bed, etc., etc.

You get the picture.

You don’t have to have a reason to dress up and look good… being a woman is reason enough, even if you’re just staying home all day.

So today, just do it. The minute you get out of bed (or as soon as you read this, depending on how your morning has gone so far!), dress in your favourite clothes (ones that make you look and feel great), do your hair, wash your face, brush your teeth, and feel the motivation kick in.

On the other hand, if you really don’t want to have a motivated, successful day and you really, REALLY just want to do nothing for hours, by all means, stay in your PJs and relax!

My point?

It’s all in your control.
